Harrell lauded for service

(Snow Hill, North Carolina)–Snow Hill Mayor Don Davis issued the following statement: “Greene County Democratic Party Chair Shelby Harrell is to be lauded for her service to the North Carolina Democratic Party and the residents of Greene County. Shelby was very effective at bringing Democrats together. She was committed to the work of the Party, which Greene County’s Democratic Party was one of the most effective in eastern North Carolina. Although her resignation came as a surprise to me, I support Shelby in all aspects of her life. Greene County is better off because of Shelby’s decades of leadership within the Democratic Party. Godspeed, Shelby.”

Harrell resigned from her post as the leader of the Greene County Democratic Party earlier this week. Morris Luckett, former mayor of Hookerton, was appointed to serve as the chair of the Greene County Democratic Party.

“I was honored to work with Morris during his tenure as the mayor of Hookerton. Morris is a fine leader. I believe that he has the ability to build on Shelby’s legacy of service,” Davis added.
